Merlot

altOnly limited amounts of Merlot have been planted in the Hunter Valley as it can be sometimes difficult to grow and can be inconsistent in quality from year to year. However, when the right conditions do occur, the Hunter can produce Merlot which is rich in spicy plum flavours, with those typical earthy overtones. In keeping with our premium wine philosophy, Ernest Hill only produce Merlot when the conditions are the best.

The 'Rodney' Merlot is a more traditional style which is dry and savoury with plenty of character - not one of your non-descript Merlots!

The 'Dam' Merlot is a lighter, slightly sweeter style than the 'Rodney' and will appeal to the wine drinker looking for an easy drinking smooth style of red wine.
